LD Lines - my travel story

Last summer, I went to France with some friends. We went by ferry as foot passengers, on the LD Lines route from Portsmouth to Le Havre.
The LD Lines ferry was really quite nice; it was much cheaper than Brittany or Condor so I wasn’t expecting much but I couldn’t fault the service. Everything went smoothly from check-in to when we arrived; if only the rest of the holiday had gone so well - my friend broke his arm!
The only thing I would say is make sure you book early. It’s an overnight crossing and by the time we booked (late!) all the cabins were gone. We managed to get a couple of sleeper seats though - well worth the extra if you want a good night’s sleep!
