Fastest non-Dover ferries to France

1. Top spot goes to the route Poole to Cherbourg, with Brittany Ferries
The fast craft sailing on this route takes just 2 hours and 15 minutes, while the conventional cruise ferries take 4.5 hours during the day, and 6.5 hours for overnight sailings. But watch out - the fast craft only runs from March to October!
2. Second place - Portsmouth to Cherbourg, Brittany Ferries
This fast craft service takes 3 hours. Another seasonal route, March to October.
3. 3rd place, its Brittany Ferries again - Portsmouth to Caen
The fast craft takes 3 hours and 45 minutes, and the conventional ferries take 5h 45m during the day, and 7 hours overnight.
4. Coming in at number 4 is Transmanche Ferries from Newhaven to Dieppe, 4 hours sailing duration, all year round.
5. Condor take 5th place, with Poole to St. Malo, which takes 4h 35m. Direct services run from May to September.
6. 6th place is LD Lines! Their Newhaven to Le Havre service takes just 5 hours.
7. Condor Ferries, Weymouth to St. Malo, from 5h 15m.
8. Joint 8th place goes to LD Lines, their daytime return crossing on the Portsmouth - Le Havre route takes just 5.5 hours (the outbound is longer, an overnight crossing which takes 8 hours). Also with a 5.5 hour crossing time is Condor Ferries, with Portsmouth to Cherbourg, from 5.5 hours.
9. Brittany Ferries, Plymouth to Roscoff, daytime sailing take 6 hours and overnight sailings take 8 hours.
10. Last place goes to Brittany (who also grabbed top spot, so its not too bad!), with Portsmouth to St. Malo, with an average crossing duration of 10h and 45m.
