What’s on - Europe: September

A quick round-up of some of Europe’s most interesting and quirky goings-on for September!
International Puppet Festival, Zagreb, Croatia
28th August - 5th September
A chance to see puppeteers (and puppets) from across the globe.
Regatta Storica, Venice, Italy
1st Sunday in September
A parade showcasing the city’s beautiful gondolas and the talents of the gondoliers.
Bestival, Isle of Wight
5th - 7th September
Line-up includes Amy Winehouse, Underworld, My Bloody Valentine and The Human League.
International Kite Festival, Dieppe, France
6th - 14th September
Milk Festival (Fete du lait), Le Quesnoy, France
15th - 16th September
My personal favourite - a festival celebrating milk and associated dairy products! The festival features around 150 cows, and even includes especially choreographed cow ballet, and the election of the town’s ‘Miss Protein’ (I have yet to work out if this honour is bestowed upon human or cow!) Get your face painted like a cow, or sample and buy milk and dairy produce!
Oktoberfest
20th September - 5th October
See our Oktoberfest event guide for more info!
