Survey Suggests Ferry Travel More Popular Than Ever
A recent survey done by the Dover Port authority proved that a number of British holiday makers prefer ferry ports rather than airports.
Of the number of passengers surveyed at the port, 90 percent of them responded positively to the ease of luggage handling when travelling by a ferry while the same number also thought that the security checks at the ferry ports are relatively easy and about 70 percent of them said that ferry travel was cheaper.
The Passenger Shipping Association (PSA) said that more people are now looking for cheaper ways to get to their holiday destinations and also looking for holidays closer to home and ferry travel is a perfect option for this.
PSA director William Gibbons said: “If you are taking your family then we think travelling by ferry is incredibly good value, especially if you are prepared to travel outside the more busy times.”
He added people’s holidaying habits are now changing, with travellers more likely to take one break per year to save money.
