Nearly a third of Brits take an Autumn/winter break
Surprisingly, the months which are supposed to be low season for the ferry industry are proving otherwise with many Brits deciding to escape the gloomy weather and choosing ferries to getaway (as a cheaper alternative) despite the effects of credit crunch.
A recent survey conducted by Abbey showed that 34% percent of British people said that they would take an autumn/winter break despite hard times. Most people account this to the disappointing summer we had this year. The survey also suggested that there will be a collective spend of £8 million on these out of season getaways.
If you are one of them, then don’t forget to shop around for deals. We found www.aferry.co.uk and www.ferrysavers.com very effective for price comparisons and good offers. But if you know anything better, please spread the word.
